The prospect of solar energy in India.

It is high time now that solar energy needs to be observed as a conventional source of energy. It is the source of all forms of energy.  To date solar energy applications have been in two ways first is the thermal route in the more conventional way for different purposes like drying, cooking, heating, and the other one is the generation of electricity through photovoltaic cells. The potential of all these sources though was a point of doubt for many years. But now we all know about the potential of solar energy in India. Let us take into consideration the future of solar energy in India. Our country is located along the tropics which is a big plus when it comes to solar power generation. We receive 3000 hours of sunshine every year which is equivalent to 5000 trillion kWh energy.  The average per square meters reception is close to 4-7 kWh. With more than 10+ states have a great potential of tapping all this energy because of their location. Amidst all this, we must not forget that majority of India’s population still lives in rural areas. So promotion of solar projects in these areas is essential. Out of which there are still majority areas which don’t have access to 24hours of electricity. We must not forget that several planned projects are coming up in the purview of all this. It includes the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) targeting 20000MW of solar energy and several other projects declared by several state governments. Other than the government-funded and executed projects there are several other means of the use of solar energy for common households which are being promoted and now commonly planned in almost every household across the country all this with the subsidies that the governments offer has an added attraction or pull towards it. For example, the solar water heater units are common now and are rather one of the essentials in any architectural plans, may it be for bungalows, apartments, or townships. The next and the most significant improvement that needs to be done and should be implemented in the architectural and structural planning of townships is the use of Photo Voltaic (PV) units for electricity generation. With many established and startup solar energy companies in India coming into play in the industry, the demand which now is limited will increase as and when people are educated and made aware of its benefits. There are even many

To Sum It Up:

Thefuture of solar energy in India is certainly bright. It will see a rise in sections like electricity generation if people are made aware of the benefits of the use of it. Especially, when it comes to the use of the installation of the domestic or town level PV solar units if properly planned and executed will prove to be a boon in the energy crisis that we see in small towns and villages. It all needs to be just started with a thought, of it being not just as an option but as a main source of energy in one form or the other.
